Formé jusqu’ici au Rugby Club Soignies, avec lequel il a décroché la saison dernière le titre de champion de Belgique U18, Tom Calomme a décidé de partir à la découverte d’une autre culture rugbystique tout en travaillant son anglais. Il a ainsi mis le cap sur l’Irlande, Dublin et le Trinity College en compagnie de son équipier sonégien Ilian Naimi.
A Dublin, Tom Calomme fait mieux que ça puisque ses performances ne passent pas inaperçues. Il figure ainsi dans une sélection des U20 du Trinity College appelée à rencontrer la sélection U19 du Japon ce samedi 18 mars en match amical.
L’équipe U19 japonaise est en effet actuellement en tournée en Europe et se mesurera à l’équipe U19 d’Irlande à deux reprises la semaine prochaine (22 et 26 mars). Ils disputent donc d’abord un match amical contre une sélection des U20 du Trinity College, et Tom Calomme donc.
L’international belge ayant encore disputé avec la Belgique le Championnat d’Europe U18 en octobre dernier figure dans les 26 joueurs du Trinity College.
