Un effectif renforcé, une équipe plus compétitive et une ambition commune : offrir aux joueurs les meilleures conditions pour préparer leur passage vers le rugby senior. C’est l’objectif de la nouvelle entente U18 entre le BBRFC Celtic et le Brussels Citizens pour la saison 2026-2027.
La catégorie U18 constitue une étape déterminante dans le parcours d’un joueur. Dernier palier avant la catégorie seniors, elle permet de poursuivre la progression technique, tactique et humaine des joueurs tout en conciliant les exigences du rugby avec les études, les examens et une autonomie grandissante. Dans ce contexte, il est essentiel de proposer un cadre motivant où chacun continue à progresser et à s’épanouir.
C’est dans cet esprit que les deux clubs ont choisi d’unir leurs forces.
Une seule équipe, un projet commun
Les joueurs des deux clubs formeront une équipe unique. Ils s’entraîneront et disputeront leurs rencontres ensemble, sur les installations des deux clubs.
Ce fonctionnement permettra de constituer un groupe plus étoffé, de renforcer l’émulation à l’entraînement et d’assurer une plus grande stabilité tout au long de la saison. Les joueurs bénéficieront ainsi d’un encadrement de qualité, d’un temps de jeu adapté et de conditions favorables à leur progression.
L’objectif est de bâtir un collectif ambitieux et inclusif, dans lequel chacun pourra développer son potentiel tout en vivant pleinement sa passion du rugby.
Un projet tourné vers l’avenir
Au-delà des résultats sportifs, cette entente traduit la volonté des deux clubs de construire un parcours cohérent pour leurs jeunes. Partageant les mêmes valeurs et implantés à Bruxelles, le BBRFC Celtic et les Brussels Citizens souhaitent offrir aux U18 un cadre propice à leur épanouissement et à leur préparation au rugby senior. En parallèle, le BBRFC Celtic poursuit le développement de son pôle jeunes grâce à son partenariat avec La Hulpe pour les catégories U14 et U16, assurant ainsi une continuité dans la formation des joueurs jusqu’aux seniors.

BBRFC Celtic and Brussels Citizens Launch New U18 Partnership
A stronger squad, a more competitive environment and a shared ambition to help players enjoy and continue their rugby journey, that is the vision behind the new U18 partnership between BBRFC Celtic and Brussels Citizens for the 2026-2027 season. The U18 category represents a key stage in the development of any rugby player. It is often the final step before senior rugby and an important period in which players continue to develop their skills, understanding of the game and confidence both on and off the field.
It is also an age where rugby begins to compete with many other commitments, from studies and exams to social activities and increasing independence. Creating an environment where players remain motivated, engaged and able to enjoy their rugby is therefore more important than ever.
To provide the best possible experience and opportunities for their players, BBRFC Celtic and Brussels Citizens have chosen to bring their strengths together through a single U18 program.
One Team, One Shared Ambition
The U18 partnership will operate as a single combined team. Players from both clubs will train and compete together throughout the season across both clubs’ facilities, creating a larger player pool, stronger competition and a more consistent training environment.
By joining forces, both clubs can offer greater squad stability and a higher quality rugby experience, while ensuring that every player benefits from meaningful game time, strong coaching support and opportunities to continue developing.
The objective is to build a squad that is both ambitious and inclusive, where players are challenged to improve while continuing to enjoy the game.
More Than Just Rugby
Beyond performance and competition, the project is also about building a community. With both clubs located in Brussels and with a shared vision for the players’ development, this is an exciting new step.
This new U18 partnership is built around a simple objective : providing players with the best possible environment to continue playing, developing and enjoying rugby during a pivotal stage of their journey.
At the same time, BBRFC Celtic continues to invest in its younger age groups through its Academy partnership with Rugby Club La Hulpe in U14 and U16, creating a coherent development pathway from Academy rugby through to the senior game.
